 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Sundays, 8/7c on ABC 7/12/08 - Break Boundaries Participates in Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Break Boundaries recently took part in ABC's Emmy-winning television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The Akers family of West Chester, Ohio are overcoming many obstacles everyday and we were honored to help break some of those boundaries. The renovation was essential for the Akers family, who's home has become an obstacle in their everyday life. Greg and Ginger Akers have three children, 9-year-old Christian, 7-year-old Brooke and 3-year-old Faith. All three children have been diagnosed with life-threatening conditions. Christian suffers from Crohn's Disease. Brooke and Faith suffer from Spinal Muscular Atrophy, which prohibits the girls from getting around on their own.  Break Boundaries installed voice activated REACH systems in both Brooke and Faith's bedrooms. Additionally, we installed power operated doors, Infrared remote bed controllers, and IR Distribution systems. Brooke and Faith now have bedrooms that respond to their spoken command. From opening doors and adjusting their beds, to turning on lights and changing the channels on their TVs and Stereos, they can do it all without lifting a finger. to air October 5th, on ABC, Sunday night. |
